Effective February 10th, BLUEGRASS TRACKS is no longer available on Windstream Channel 4. Unfortunately, due to corporate downsizing at Windstream Communications, my position at Channel 4 was eliminated. An offer was made to keep Bluegrass Tracks on the air, however, Channel 4's local management decided not to continue airing the show.
I would like to personally thank all of the loyal listeners of Bluegrass Tracks for making the show a success for the past four years. Bluegrass Tracks has given local bluegrass, gospel and country musicians a valuable venue for their music to be heard.
Is this the end for Bluegrass Tracks? Perhaps not.
I am currently discussing the possibility of leasing a channel from Windstream Cable Television. If successful, Bluegrass Tracks would certainly be part of the channel. The channel would be called NGTV and would feature local music programming, classic movies and television programs from yesteryear, community information and local weather.
Local music shows like "The Bluegrass Bandwagon" and "Gospel Connection" would feature performances from area groups taped live at the Historic Union County Courthouse in Blairsville. The show "Out & About" would feature interviews on events and happenings around the area. And "North Georgia Update" would keep viewers up to speed on activities, community calendar happennigs and events in the mountains.
I am hopeful that NGTV can become a reality, but there is much work and planning ahead. Your thoughts and prayers on this endeavor will certainly be appreciated. I'd like to hear your comments and thoughts about this. You can email me at:
